MEeT Online Information
2025 Spring Term | March and April
Dear Tutors,
So glad to be working with returning and new faces this term. Please welcome Eric, Taylor and Erinn to our team in the Facebook messenger app. We have 29 students to serve in sets of 2 with the exception of one student who requested one-on-one lessons. We are excited to be given such an opportunity. I’ve listed below information that will be helpful to have as a reference.

What you should know

MASTER SCHEDULE | TUTOR TIME SHEET | ZOOM LINK
Orientation: March 7 at 3:30 pm. This will be a casual meet and greet, a review of the curriculum and a time for Q&A.
Scheduling: Sessions for tutors in America will be held on Friday nights from 4:00 pm PT - 8:00 pm PT for 7 weeks. Sessions for tutors and students in Korea will be held on Saturday mornings from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. The dates are as follows: 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26 (7 Sessions)
I will be sending two invites. One will be for tutors only and will include the links to curriculum, student electronic worksheets and your time sheet. The second invite will include the Zoom link and will be set to the time of your session. This one will be sent to you, your students, and teacher Peter. These invites will not have curriculum links therefore you can obtain these from the tutors only invite or at the bottom of this website page.
Rescheduling: At times tutors need to cancel their sessions and request a substitute. Please give us 48 hours to secure another tutor. If it is a case of an emergency, please make a note in the Facebook messaging group. Likely, another tutor will see the message before me and be able to sub in.
Sometimes the students need to reschedule as well. If that is the case, we will extend one more week for make- up lessons or the students may forfeit the session. Tutors will get paid if there is a no show but if the student declares an absence with a 24 hour or earlier notice, tutors will not get paid. The tutor can decide to give the make up session at week 8.
Sessions: This term we are streamlining the small talk by giving a “Who am I” section, a game, the Bible story and questions. Tutors will want to participate in each section to help warm up the students. As for the Bible story, Tutors should read the paragraph first and then have each student read the same paragraph. Do not rush. After the readings please discuss the Who, What, Where, When and Character Traits verbally. Lastly, you can share the student electronic work sheet and complete together. Since you are sharing your screen, they may not be able to complete it at the same time. After class, they should complete it on their own.
Always reaffirm the students with their answers even if it is not correct. For example: Oh, nice try…you are close. I’ll give you a hint.
Communication: On Friday nights, our tutors utilize FB messenger to share if a student is not in their class, if the tutor is running late or if there are questions about the curriculum. We also engage in supporting each other in this space. This may include sharing funny stories about the students, such as how to explain circumcision in ESL etc. I will drop messages related to tutoring or students randomly during the week.
Break Out Rooms: Break out rooms will be listed as Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, Class E. (Class E is for private meetings and not for tutoring.) Your Google Calendar invite will clarify what designated class you and your students will tutor in.
Mandatory Staff Requirements: Each tutor must complete and submit an NDA and a W-9 form and send to me before a tutor payment is made. This is for the non-profit Gide International Education and not Gide USA. Tutors who generate more than $599.00 per year will be automatically sent a 1099 form in January. For those in a situation where you do not want a 1099 form, we can donate your funds beyond $599 to scholarships for students in need of financial assistance.
Please complete a GiDE time sheet (link at the top of the page) for each session. Like DOGE, this is the efficiency process to send you funds. (Bad joke but checking to see if you were reading this).
Staff e-mails: If you are interested in an organization e-mail (___@gideintl.org) you are welcome to obtain one. This will give you access to the full Google suite. Just request from me and I will set you up.
Payments: We are in process of placing Gide International on Venmo. We plan to send payments out on Saturday mornings at the earliest and Monday afternoon at the latest.
